Sarracenia flava Potted

$ 19.99

Sarracenia flava, the Yellow trumpet, is the most striking and elegant of the American pitcher plant species.  Old plants can produce pitchers almost three feet tall with wide mouths and beautiful big lids. It comes in seven official color varieties.  These are var. flava or rugelii,, which means they will be all yellowy green with a red blotch or patch of venation at the throat.  The flowers are yellow with long petals and an unusual fragrance similar to bearded iris.

Sarracenia will catch flies, wasps and yellow jackets!  These are a great way to naturally control pests.

Growing strong

Arrived well-packaged. Already growing one large-ish pitcher (not yet mature). Also came with a sundew, which caught a mosquito this morning. So I'm pleased!

My Sarracenia Flava snappers are growing fast

Live on Mendocino Coast and the plants are thriving and shooting up tubes already.
I have had one plant for years, bought two more from another dealer and they withered and died within weeks and was told it was to bad. Bought two from California Carnivores, they came much larger than other dealer, rooted well and started flourishing. Very impressed overall with root stock.
