D. intermedia (Temperate)

A beautiful temperate form of intermedia, native to Eastern Canada, the US, and Europe. In nature it often grows semi-aquatically around lakes in pure peat moss. In cultivation, it does best in undrained bowls of waterlogged peat. It forms a tight bud to overwinter cold conditions. Great for the outdoor bog garden. Reseeds.
