Sarracenia flava var. maxima x ( leucophylla x minor ) Bare-Root

$ 14.99 $ 19.99

 Sarracenia flava var. maxima is the all green version of flava; luminous chartruese pitchers on tall, large lidded plants. Sarracenia leucophylla x minor is also known as x excellens which is a classic combination of two super tall, eye catching plants.  Excellens have tall, semi hooded pitchers with fluttery edges and red coloration with cute little polka dots.  This combination should result in very tall plants with striking pitchers!

Bare-root plants are plants that have had all of their pitchers cut back and they have been removed from the soil so you will only receive a rhizome.  Have your soil ready for planting these up upon arrival!  These will experience a bit more shock than potted plants so if you are new to carnivorous plants we strongly recommend that you check out our potted Sarracenia

Care Instructions
Sun: Full sun outdoors
Water: Always sitting in at least two inches of distilled or purified water, they prefer deep saucers of water or undrained containers in order to recreate their very water logged conditions
Temperature: 15 degrees - 100 degrees, needs protection from colder winters and always keep very wet when hot
Dormancy: All Sarracenia require a winter dormancy starting in October and ending in February. Many of the pitchers will turn brown and die back during this time.
