Platycerium bifurcatum Staghorn Fern Potted

One of the most remarked upon, non-carnivorous plants in the nursery is our giant Staghorn fern!  These lovely epiphytes make a great addition to any houseplant collection. Staghorns are versatile plants that can be grown mounted onto a board and hung on the wall or grown in a well draining soil mix in a pot.  Their long, forked leaves resemble the antlers of an elk and their smaller shield fronds at the base of the plants dry out and protect their delicate roots.  

We recommend growing these indoors in most areas.  They prefer bright, indirect light and to be watered frequently but do not let them sit in water.  They appreciate humidity or misting from time to time.
