Dionaea m. Kim Jong Il Potted

Dionaea m. 'Kim Jong-Il' is a wildly mutated and beautiful flytrap! (Please note, we did not name this plant).  The traps are deeply arched, rippling along the edges, and covered in short, jagged teeth. The interior of the traps blushes bright red in blotches! This cultivar is very small, and the plants we are selling are very small. 

These traps often do not close properly, which is common with the more mutated traps.  Be sure to apply diluted MaxSea fertilizer once per month to the traps as it cannot catch prey as well as other flytraps.

PLEASE NOTE THAT VENUS FLYTRAPS ARE DORMANT FROM OCTOBER - FEBRUARY.  When we ship these plants dormant they can appear smaller than the photograph but they will grow vigorously again in spring!

Care Instructions

Sun: Full sun outdoors
Water: Always sitting in at least two inches of distilled or purified water
Temperature: 20 degrees - 80 degrees, can even take temperatures from freezing to 100 degrees but only for short periods
Dormancy: All Venus flytraps require a winter dormancy starting in October and ending in February. Many of the traps will turn black and die back during this time. Leave them outdoors in full sun, sitting in distilled water during this period. If you live in an area that snows; over winter them indoors on a sunny windowsill in an unheated room or garage. Still sitting in full sun and distilled water.
