Sarracenia x 'Leah Wilkerson' Bare-Root

Sarracenia x 'Leah Wilkerson' Bare-Root

$ 71.99 $ 89.99

This renowned cultivar is a Sarracenia x moorei that was collected in a bog in Florida with the owners permission.  It was named for the land owner.  There are lots of mooreis in the trade now but this is definitely a choice selection that truly highlights the best of both parents.  The pitchers are white topped with a striking red throat.  A must have for every Sarracenia collector!

Bare-root plants are plants that have had all of their pitchers cut back and they have been removed from the soil so you will only receive a rhizome.  Have your soil ready for planting these up upon arrival!  These will experience a bit more shock than potted plants so if you are new to carnivorous plants we strongly recommend that you check out our potted Sarracenia.

Care Instructions
Sun: Full sun outdoors
Water: Always sitting in at least two inches of distilled or purified water
Temperature: 20 degrees - 80 degrees, can even take temperatures from freezing to 100 degrees but only for short periods
Dormancy: All Sarracenia require a winter dormancy starting in October and ending in February. Many of the pitchers will turn brown and die back during this time. Leave them outdoors in full sun, sitting in distilled water during this period. If you live in an area that snows; over winter them indoors on a sunny windowsill in an unheated room or garage. Still sitting in full sun and distilled water.
