Drosera regia, the king sundew, is in a class of its own. This impressive plant is rare in nature—only a few South African colonies are known. This large plant has stiff, sword-shaped leaves arching outward in a rosette pattern. The leaves can approach two feet in length, and the plants gradually form stems that can form offshoots from their thick roots. On younger plants, the leaves can move dramatically, twisting in knots around larger prey. Indeed, it is a fantastic plant to grow. Click here for growing tips.
We only offer these rare plants a few times a year. Check back frequently for restocking, and be sure to sign up for a back-in-stock notification under the product listing below.
We are working on production of these plants but we do not have any ready to ship at this time. If you would like to be added to our waiting list please email us. But, please be aware that we do not expect to have them available for quite some time.
72 Hour Heat Packs are a great way to help protect your Tropical Plants during shipment. We recommend adding these to your purchases from November to February, whenever your local temperatures drop below freezing.
Please use your best judgment when ordering, as some plants will become stressed if these are used over summer or when temperatures are above 80 degrees. We will do our best to remove these, and issue a refund, if they are not needed or could be harmful to the plants.

Almost perfect. Five of the plants appear to be doing incredibly well. The 6th, Drosera binata, died (went dormant??) about 2 weeks after planting. It was a very young small plant and I have hope that it will come back
