Byblis liniflora Seed Pack (10 seeds/pack)

The beautiful Byblis liniflora may be the easiest of the Byblis to grow, and it self-pollinates! Its lovely, dewy, branching stems grow on small, relatively compact plants that can sometimes fall over and scramble. The branching stems are a delicate green color.

It is named for its charming purple flowers that resemble flax! 

Please note that these are annuals and will die back in cold weather. Be sure to harvest the seed to make more plants!

Dionaea m. are the archetypal Venus flytraps with green petioles and red-blushing interiors. Over time, they can get quite large and be very vigorous.

These are open-pollinated, meaning the plants have been pollinated naturally, without our help, in our substantial botanical collection of select Venus flytrap cultivars. Venus flytraps are temperate plants and will have the best germination rate with a period of cold stratification. They can take many, many months to germinate. Sometimes, they will sprout within days, but taking a few months is more common. We’ve seen them take as long as a year!

Dionaea m. ‘FTS Etna’ Seed Pack (12 seeds/pack)

Dionaea m. 'FTS Etna' is an attractive cultivar selected for its impressive vigor and size as a seedling. ‘Etna’ is names for a Sicilian Volcano and has big, beautiful traps on thick petioles. Some traps raise up high, and others gracefully drape over the sides of the pot.

Dionaea m. ‘Spider’ Seed Pack (12 seeds/pack)

Dionaea m. 'Spider’ has very long, thin petioles that stick straight up in the air. Named because the petioles are reminiscent of spiders legs! It’s an extremely vigorous, clumping plant as well!

We love all-green flytraps! They’re so lovely and always stand out in a collection! This cultivar has large, upright traps.

A vicious looking form of the Venus flytrap, 'Dente' has little shark's teeth lining the trap instead of the more typical eyelash-like structures.

This a selected seed grown plant with long, thin petioles and orangey blushed traps. This cultivar is beautiful and we’ll be naming it and releasing it soon because it’s just too good!

Sarracenia rubra  ssp alabamensis Seed Pack (15 seeds/pack)

Sarracenia rubra ssp. alabamensis is one of the most endangered species of the American pitcher plants and grows in only a handful of remaining sites. The late summer pitchers are some of the best in the genus! They have an elegant shape, long lid and are glowing yellow, unlike any Sarracenia!

These seeds are rarely offered in the US and were so excited to be able to make them available to you! This is a mix of our alabamensis collection plant seed so there will be some variation in shape of pitcher, lid, venation and color.

California Carnivores can ship this plant outside of California as per Permit Number ESPER0002076, the plant and any resulting seeds or progeny may not be planted on Federal property, these are artificially propagated. 

Sarracenia rubra  ssp jonesii Seed Pack (15 seeds/pack)

Sarracenia rubra ssp. jonesii is probably the most endangered species of the American pitcher plants and grows in only a handful of remaining sites.  Mature plants are beautiful looking with narrow pitchers that have a distinct bulge in the throat just before the mouth.

We’re always excited to offer this critically endangered taxa. We are one of the only nurseries capable of legally shipping them across state lines. These seeds were made from crossing a beautiful red rubra ssp jonesii with other carefully selected jonesii in our collection. The seedlings will have variation in their color and venation.
