Sun Pitcher Plants (Heliamphora)
Reminiscent of delicately sculpted vases, with tall stems of lovely, lily-like flowers, the sun pitchers (Heliamphora) of South America have a beautiful simplicity. Related to their cousins in the north, Sarracenia and Darlingtonia, these are the only pitcher plants of the southern continent.
Adapted to high winds, growing atop the Tepui mountains, the pitchers are tough yet brittle with delicate nectar spoons to lure insects. These plants require specialized growing conditions and we recommend cool terrariums, with high humidity, under grow lights.
For more information on how to grow these plants check out our Heliamphora growing
tips.
We are currently working on production of these wonderful plants but we do not have any ready to ship at this time. If you would like to be added to our waiting list please email us. But, please be aware that we do not expect to have them available late summer or early fall.
