Sarracenia leucophylla, the white trumpet, is considered by many to be the most beautiful species of American pitcher plant.  It produces large, red petaled flowers that can be as tall as 3 feet!  The first pitchers of the season are usually thinner and more delicate than the second crop of pitchers produced in late summer to early autumn.  These later pitchers put on a spectacular show; they can be as tall as the flowers were in spring!  The pitchers are variable with the lower part of the tubes green, tan or purplish red.  The upper portion of the tube, mouth, column and lid are nearly pure white laced with a network of veins in green to pink to red to purple.

Care Instructions
Sun: Full sun outdoors
Water: Always sitting in at least two inches of distilled or purified water
Temperature: 20 degrees - 80 degrees, can even take temperatures from freezing to 100 degrees but only for short periods
Dormancy: All Sarracenia require a winter dormancy starting in October and ending in February. Many of the pitchers will turn brown and die back during this time. Leave them outdoors in full sun, sitting in distilled water during this period. If you live in an area that snows; over winter them indoors on a sunny windowsill in an unheated room or garage. Still sitting in full sun and distilled water.

Healthy and vibrant

I received my Sarracenia leucophylla perfectly packaged and undamaged. No shock adapting to its new home in Oklahoma and doing great.

Beautiful Leucophylla

This is a beautiful healthy plant. It came with a few gnats or small flying insects, so I made it an outdoor plant unfortunately, but I guess that comes with the territory. I'm a novice at this and have only had my first personally owned carnivorous plant for 10 months, so still learning.

Absolutely massive rhizome

First time ordering. Absolutely not my last. I was so happy to support a business that has provided such valuable information on how we can grow and protect these amazing plants. Very Happily growing in full sun 10 minutes from where George Washington crossed the Delaware. Prehistoric plants in a historic area. Thank you much. I'll be sure to post on Reddit in Savage garden as my first pitchers open.

Great service!

Great service! Showed up on time. Packed perfectly. Can't wait to see it come to action.

Coming in as advertised

I bought a fairly small one a couple months ago and immediatly woke it up from dormancy. Since then it has grown 3 stalks and one is forming with colors as shown in the picture.
