Great arrival condition
Arrived with two great looking pitchers and a third one that was close to opening. At time of review, I have had it for a month. It is currently growing a new pitcher while bag acclimating which is very exciting. If you get a Nepenthes for a houseplant and do not know what bag acclimation is, please look it up. More common species/hybrids may not need it but if you get a fancier variety like this, it may not survive the low humidity of your house.

Healthy Sundew
The hybrid sundew came in great condition. It was the first time I had ordered a sundew by mail. It didn't have the dew when it first arrived and that was expected. But the leaves, the growth habit, all looked healthy. I ordered in mid April if I recall, and the plant has been living outside since then. It transplanted well. It has since regained all its dew and is about to flower. I'm very happy with this purchase and if the store stocks anymore sundew in my native range I will be purchasing more in the future. I've included a picture of how it came out of the box, and another picture a couple of days later outside.

An all in one shirt for lovers of insect eating plants and the night
I was surprised to find that I did not own a purple shirt, obviously since I hadn't, until now, found such a stylish and beautiful shirt. This Harvet Moon shirt is Beautiful and stylish. Love the artwork, and sphinx moths are an extra bonus, as one of my hobbies is entomology. I'm 6 foot tall, my chest is 39 inhes and flat. The length is perfect, meaning that it's long enough to afford the wearer some modesty. The colors are rich as well. I'm going to buy my nephew one in maroon..

Easy to set up, fun to watch
I got my bog right at the start of fall and got it all set up with some moss and sundew from a local bog. It's gorgeous. Definitely will recommend California Carnivores for violent planty goodness.

You can grow carnivorous plants in terrariums and we recommend Mexican Pinguicula, Nepenthes, Cape Sundews and Tropical/Indoor Sundews
While there is some variability based on your location, plants like Sarracenia, Venus flytraps and temperate Drosera do well outdoors!
Many carnivorous plants make great houseplants! Try Nepenthes, Drosera capensis, Pinguicula
Drosera capensis is THE perfect beginner's plant! Cape sundews are handsome, dewy plants that are very easy to grow. They will catch gnats, fruit flies, and flies and can easily grow on a sunny kitchen windowsill.
While all carnivorous plants have a voracious appetite, Sarracenia are the most impressive! Their pitchers will fill with wasps, flies and beetles by the end of the summer.
Carnivorous plants require specialized soil that is free of nutrients and minerals. Depending on the species we use a different, custom blended mix. We have all of our soil recipes available in the FAQ!
Venus flytraps are best grown outdoors in most areas, preferring full sun, good airflow and all the hustle and bustle of the outdoors!
