This is the perfect soil mix for Dewy Pines (Drosophyllum). It is one part peat, one part pumice, one part lava, one part perlite, one part sand. This bag will fill an 8" pot, a little more than a gallon bag full.
This is the perfect soil mix for Mexican or Tropical Pinguicula! It is made of sand, peat moss, pumice, and perlite. This bag has enough mix to fill at least six 2" pots, about 1/2 gallon of mix.
This soil is already evenly mixed, just add a little distilled water and pot your plants right up!
Get the same custom Nepenthes mix that we use in our nursery! A blend of New Zealand Sphagnum Moss, Fine Orchid Bark, Perlite and Pumice that comes in a one gallon bag. This is about a gallon of mix.
Instructions for Use: Soak the New Zealand sphagnum moss in distilled water for 10 minutes then mix together with the other ingredients until they are well incorporated. When potting up plants in this mix, fill the pot so that it won't settle too much, but do not over pack.
This mix is ideal for American pitcher plants, Venus flytraps, most Sundews, and bladderworts.
This one-gallon bag is made up of about 1 part perlite to 4 parts professional grade peat moss. We use only the highest quality ingredients with our plants and you can too! Our peat moss is the Sunshine brand, professional-grade, milled Canadian sphagnum peat moss. The professional-grade usually isn't available at retail nurseries and costs about twice as much, but is a much finer quality.
One bag will roughly fill 12 of our 2" pots and is about a gallon.
Mixing Instructions:
Mix all of the peat and perlite together in a large bowl. Be sure and wet it with distilled/rainwater before you begin mixing. This will keep the perlite dust to a minimum which is harmful to breathe in. Keep adding water and mixing until it is very soppy wet. Now you're ready to pot 'em up!
When purchasing your own peat and perlite at another nursery or hardware store, Beware of the MiracleGrow brand! There are added fertilizers that are harmful to carnivores.
This is the all purpose fertilizer for your carnivorous plant collection. It is a nice, mild, kelp-based food that won't burn your plants. We use MaxSea in the nursery and the plants love it! Even the live sphagnum thrives with MaxSea!
It can be used on all carnivorous plants (except Pinguicula) at a dilution of 1/4 teaspoon per gallon. Lightly mist the leaves of the plants once a month for best results.
This is a 4 ounce jar of MaxSea 16-16-16 fertilizer.
We recommend against using this for the Pinguicula and instead recommend using Schultz Cactus Fertilizer.
We only use this New Zealand sphagnum moss for all of our potting media. Cleaner, higher quality and long lasting; this is the best of the best. We highly recommend using it for Nepenthes, Heliamphora, Darlingtonia, and Drosera regia.
This 100g New Zealand sphagnum moss is compressed and we love it! It's compact size makes it far more cost effective to ship and, we can't lie, it's very fun to add water and watch it expand.
