With their bulbous green heads, twisted red tongues, and long, tubular pitchers, the cobra plant is very suitably named. Cobra plants, (Darlingtonia) are native only to extreme Northern California and southern Oregon. Darlingtonia is very closely related to the Sarracenia. There are striking similarities between it and Sarracenia minor and Sarracenia psittacina. 
Cobra plants have a bad reputation for being difficult to grow. This is not far from the truth, but the difficulty can be overcome with a couple of tricks. They like a lot of sunlight but they need to have cool roots. In the summer, when the temperatures rise try pouring refrigerated water over the roots!Ordered this along with a couple of nepenthes and was surprised by how much was actually included. I was able to pot both of the nepenthes that I ordered as well as two others that I already had. They are all doing great and growing really well! Just make sure you have something big enough to mix it in!
This is a wonderful hybrid, much better than I thought it would be. Nice size and color. Highly recommended. Mine is going to flower and it will make a great parent.
Packed nicely so that the plant arrived very fresh and alive. It’s been a few days now and small traps are already growing. Very nice color, I love it. Highly recommended to order from California Carnivores
I thought the plant would be much larger. Seems to be doing ok. The plant has not put on any new traps and some traps have turned black. I will see how it does in the coming months.
