Cephalotus follicularis is one of the most desired carnivorous plants in cultivation, it is a curious pitcher plant with compact growth, with bristly, colorful traps that are seemingly yawning for a bite to eat!
Several customers have asked us to make different labeled clones of Cephalotus available. This particular clone was started in vitro from seed years ago, and has proven to be a very consistent, colorful, and vigorous performer in the greenhouse, just like our resident packing expert Norma McFaddan. So instead of calling this clone something boring like "A", "#1", etc., we wanted to honor Norma for the many tens (hundreds?) of thousands of plants she has carefully packed up for customers over the years.
Sun: Thrives in bright greenhouses or in terrariums under fluorescent lights. They may also do well on very sunny windowsills
Water: Water with distilled or purified water frequently, do not let the pots sit in water for long periods of time but be sure to keep the potting medium moist all the time
Temperature: Daytime temperatures in the 70’s-80’s with a 10-20 degree drop in night temps, can tolerate light frost and we even have one in an outdoor bog that survived a month of temps in the low 20's
Dormancy: none needed
