Another fantastic plant from California Carnivors. Granted the plant needs to grow out before it shows its true colors. I purchased a small size to enjoy watching it grow into its full potential.
The recipient said the card did not work and she paid
Arrived in good condition. Do not expect it to have dew on its leaves due to shipping (oh god there's three different "doo" words in that sentence). After a month of living under grow lights in a cup of R/O water, it has produced lots of new, sticky leaves and is adept at catching tiny flies on its own. It's in such good shape that I have already begun propagating it.
Arrived with two great looking pitchers and a third one that was close to opening. At time of review, I have had it for a month. It is currently growing a new pitcher while bag acclimating which is very exciting. If you get a Nepenthes for a houseplant and do not know what bag acclimation is, please look it up. More common species/hybrids may not need it but if you get a fancier variety like this, it may not survive the low humidity of your house.
This plant is a black hole for tiny flies. A ravenous being of death that unfolds with fresh kills adorning it. We purchased one of these for a display at work a few months ago and could not believe how efficient it is at catching fungus gnats. A coworker and I were both so enamored by this little plant that we each purchased one. Mine is growing nicely but does need help catching prey at home, as the neighboring sundew is a kill-stealer.
